Advertising Disclosure
Last updated: 24 March 2026
We believe in being upfront about how this site is funded. This page explains how advertising works on MySASSA, and what it means for the information you read here.
How MySASSA Is Funded
Running a website costs money - hosting, development, research, and content creation all require resources. MySASSA is funded through display advertising. This means you may see ads on our pages, served through third-party advertising networks.
We earn a small amount of revenue each time an ad is displayed or clicked on our pages. This revenue allows us to keep the site running and continue providing free, up-to-date SASSA information to the millions of South Africans who need it.
Advertising Does Not Influence Our Content
Our guides, recommendations, and information are written independently. No advertiser has any say in what we write or how we write it.
The ads displayed on our site are served automatically by advertising networks based on your browsing interests and demographics. We do not choose which specific ads appear. The content of an ad has no connection to the SASSA information on the page.
- We do not accept payment from any organisation to recommend specific products or services in our content.
- We do not write content designed to drive ad clicks. Our guides are structured to answer your questions as directly and clearly as possible.
- We will always recommend the official SASSA portal (srd.sassa.gov.za) as your primary resource for applications, status checks, and appeals.
- We do not accept sponsored articles or paid placements within our guides.
What Kind of Ads You May See
The ads on our site are served by third-party advertising networks. They may include:
- Display ads (banner images or text) that appear in designated ad spaces on our pages
- Ads that may be personalised based on your browsing history and interests (if you have not opted out of personalised ads)
- Generic, non-personalised ads if you have opted out of tracking or if personalisation data is not available
We do our best to ensure ads on our site are appropriate, but we do not have full control over which specific ads are displayed by the advertising network. If you see an ad that you believe is misleading, offensive, or related to a SASSA scam, please report it to us through our contact page.
A Note About Scam Ads
Be Cautious
Unfortunately, scammers sometimes use advertising networks to promote fake SASSA services. If you see an ad claiming to process SASSA applications, check your status, or offer you money, it is almost certainly a scam. The only official place to apply or check your status is srd.sassa.gov.za.
Learn more about protecting yourself from SASSA scams on our SASSA Scam Awareness page.
Your Choices
You have control over the ads you see:
- You can opt out of personalised ads through Google Ads Settings
- You can manage cookies in your browser settings - see our cookies page for instructions
- Using an ad blocker will not affect the functionality of our site - you will still have full access to all our content
